I love my garden!

I can’t say this enough, I 100%, wholeheartedly, enthusiastically, unequivocally, capital L-O-V-E my garden. 

 Apparently it loves me back.

My baby Brother did it. Zach married his true love\! I'm so truly happy for him and my new SIL Lorien.

It was a wonderful weekend. We are blessed to have this joy in our lives.

Surprises in the coop

I woke up this morning bright and early; bright describing my mood not the suns postion as it was 4:30 a.m. After running the dogs and feeding them breakfast i went outside to start my morning routine. Daisy the baby deer had her bottle, Oprah the opossum munched her greens. Next stop ......... chicken coop! Muck day was upon me so I grabbed my gloves,shovel,rake and mask. The inside of a chicken coop when its 98 degrees outside can be a little off putting but i love my chickens dearly! As I'm cleaning I watch the 3 broody hens sitting in there nests. This has been an ongoing problem. The hens go broody, egg production goes down and since my rooster has a questionable sexual orientation the eggs go bad and get thrown away. But today was a day of surprises. I start to scoop up old straw beside the nest boxes and the little yellow hen jumps out, runs across the coop with two little chicks running and cheeping behind her! I love surprises.
